Join a live dealer table and experience the real casino atmosphere from the comfort of your home. Fan Tan — a traditional Asian game packed with strategy, excitement, and the chance to win big. Only at MDG188.
Game Introduction
Fan Tan is one of Asia's oldest gambling games — its history spans hundreds of years, rooted in a rich tradition of Chinese gaming. Today, MDG188 brings this historic game into the modern age through a live dealer format that lets you play alongside a real dealer in real time, directly from your phone or computer screen.
The basic concept of Fan Tan is simple — the dealer takes a handful of small objects (typically beads or buttons) from a pile and covers them. Players bet on the remainder (1, 2, 3, or 4) after the beads are divided into groups of four repeatedly. That's all there is to it. No card ranks, no complex combinations — just the right guess and a little luck. This simplicity is what has kept Fan Tan popular from generations past to the present day.
However, at MDG188, Live Fan Tan is far more than just another numbers game. Our platform delivers a richer experience with high-quality video streaming, trained dealers who are both professional and welcoming, an intuitive betting interface, and a range of side bet options that add an extra layer of excitement to every round. This is what sets MDG188 apart from other platforms available in Malaysia.
For Malaysian players who enjoy the social side of gambling — sitting with friends, sharing laughs, talking through each round — Live Fan Tan at MDG188 comes as close as any online format can to recreating that atmosphere. You can watch the dealer's hands in motion, hear the beads being counted, and even chat with others through the live chat function available on our platform.
Another major advantage of playing Live Fan Tan at MDG188 is the unquestionable transparency. Since all the action unfolds live in front of the camera, there's simply no room for manipulation or foul play. You see with your own eyes exactly how the beads are counted and the number is determined — a level of confidence that no algorithm-based slot machine can match.
How to Play
A straightforward game that's easy to understand — suitable for first-time players and seasoned casino veterans alike.
Open a free MDG188 account and deposit via Touch 'n Go, GrabPay, DuitNow, or FPX. The minimum deposit is just RM20 to get started.
Head to the Live Casino section at MDG188 and select a Live Fan Tan table. You can view the number of active players and table limits before joining.
While the betting window is open, select your number (1, 2, 3, or 4) or any available side bet options, then place your chips on your chosen selection.
The dealer reveals the beads and counts off the remainder. If your number is correct, winnings are credited to your MDG188 account instantly. Simple as that!
Remember: Every Fan Tan round begins with a betting phase (typically 20–30 seconds), followed by the dealer's counting process. Make sure you place your bets before time runs out. At MDG188, the interface displays a clear countdown timer on your screen throughout the betting phase.
Bet Types
More options mean more strategies. Learn each bet type to maximise your chances of winning.

| Kwok (Two Exact Numbers) | Pick two numbers and designate one as your main | 1.90 : 1 | 50% |

Tips & Strategies
Fan Tan is a game of chance, but there are smarter ways to manage your risk and extend your enjoyment at MDG188.
Before placing big bets, spend a few rounds observing the game's patterns. Understand the differences between Fan, Nim, Kwok, and Nga Tan. Each bet type carries its own risk and reward — choose based on your playing style and risk tolerance.
If you're new to the game, Odd/Even bets are a great starting point. With 50-50 odds and payouts close to 1:1, it's the safest way to get a feel for the game's rhythm before moving on to the more challenging exact-number bets.
Decide before you play — how much MYR are you willing to wager in a single session? Once you hit that limit, take a break. MDG188 also offers a deposit limit feature in your account settings that you can activate for tighter control.
The statistics panel in the MDG188 Live Fan Tan interface displays results from previous rounds. While each round is independent, many players use this data to spot "hot streaks". Use it wisely — treat it as a guide, not a guarantee.
Player Reviews
"I used to play Fan Tan at land-based casinos, but ever since I found Live Fan Tan on MDG188, I haven't gone anywhere else. The video quality is excellent and the dealers are friendly. The best part is being able to play at midnight on my phone while lying in bed. Winnings hit my TnG account in under 3 minutes — no long waits at all!"
"I've tried a few other platforms but MDG188 really stands out when it comes to Live Casino. The Fan Tan stream never cuts out even on a regular Celcom data plan. The dealers can speak a bit of Malay too, which makes it feel more connected. Won over RM1,800 this month alone — absolutely worth it!"
"What I love about MDG188 is the statistics it shows. You can see the results from the last 100 rounds and which numbers come up most often. It doesn't guarantee a win, but it makes me feel more confident when placing my bets. Customer support is great too — even if you message late at night, someone always gets back to you."

The dealer will greet new players as they join — a small touch that makes the experience feel far more warm and human than playing against a machine.
The MDG188 betting interface is clean and well-organised. On the left, you'll find a statistics panel showing results from previous rounds. At the bottom, a chip display lets you click to select your desired bet value. In the centre, the full screen is filled with the Live Fan Tan table. Fan Tan has deep roots in Malaysian gambling culture, particularly within the Chinese community. Many players are already familiar with the game in its traditional form — and when MDG188 introduced an authentic, reliable live dealer version, the response was overwhelming. But it's not just one community that enjoys it — Fan Tan's straightforward rules mean anyone can pick it up within minutes.
Unlike blackjack or baccarat, which require memorising more complex rules, Fan Tan can be played immediately with no prior casino experience.
